Hello people I love =0)

I don't know if we are still using this blog, but I thought I'd give a shout out to y'all! I sure do miss everybody and hope the fall semesters are going alright. I've told some of you, but I have really missed Tues. and Thurs. nights. I have kept up with some of you and prayed for you in your summer excursions and exciting opportunities to grow as a person and give back to our communities. Please keep me updated on what's going on and if you need anyone to listen I'm here.

Hey, we're not in middle school!

I'm gonna have to object to the misuse of the listserv to promote discrimination based on gender.

Jonathan's Chapter Retreat pics

hey guys (and gals),

I've got my Chapter Retreat pics online. Enjoy!

The rest can be found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/jstotts/sets/1333839/.

Also, while you're there, take a look at the Halloween pics. Not too many SG peeps in them (save Carissa and Katie), but you'll probably recognize many of the others folks.

And, as always, please post your own here...

Brilliant idea, so excited!

Ok, so you might think I wouldn't be thinking very well right now, as I got about five hours of sleep last night... and the night before... and, yeah, I think the night before that, too... five or six...

But NO! Behold, a spark of creativity in the midst of zombieness!

I have been cleaning my room this afternoon, and I encountered a problem midway: what to do with The Pants? See, for those of you that don't know, last weekend on the retreat, I did the absolutely awesome and somehow ripped my jeans ("In the leg?" some have asked...??? gosh, no, of course not-- that's not exciting!) a full seven inches while playing Trainwreck (which I knew was a little crazy but had never realized was quite THAT violent!). I decided I should definitely keep them as a souvenir because that's just something that doesn't happen to every person in the world every time they play Trainwreck. But they've been lying on the back of my desk chair for an entire week now, and they definitely need a new home... so what to do with them?

WELL... Starting Tuesday at small group, YOU, my wonderful IV friends whom I adore so much, will have an opportunity to make your mark on history by SIGNING The Pants, which shall then be displayed on my wall as a happy reminder of all of the fab times I have had with you, including the retreat on which the pants were ripped. (You do not have to have attended the retreat to sign, though!)

Isn't that just most excellent?

Ok, maybe it's just that I'm running on no sleep, but I just think it's going to be one of my favorite keepsakes from college because it's all about all of you. :o)

Exploding Whale

thought you all might, umm, appreciate this? Patrick Watkins reminded me about this last night.

Apparently, in the '70's, a whale beached itself on a *gasp* beach in Oregon, and was so large that local officials didn't know how to remove it. They finally decided the best way was through the use of 1/2 ton of dynamite. Well, things didn't exactly go as planned. Click the picture below for the video.

"Pieces of meat passed high over our heads, while others were falling at our feet...a parked car over quarter-mile away from the blast site was the target of one large chunk...everyone on the scene was covered with small particles of dead whale..."

This page also had some nice pics of another whale which exploded in a slightly different way...
